For almost two decades now, I have been plugged into loving well, living well, speaking life, and celebrating it all as a woman with chronic disease.
It has been quite the adventure!
Since 1996 (at age 11!) I have been diagnosed with dozens of disorders and disease processes, many of them complications from chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS/ME). Some of these include malignant melanoma, lupus, complex partial seizures, eosinophilic asthma, crohns disease and a rare blood clotting disorder…
I have birthed an early and critically-ill baby…
And today, I’m raising a special, amazing, emotionally-high-need and high-charged child challenged by sensory processing disorder and severe OCD…
I am in the midst of so much wildness. Still.
And also, I have peace.
Following Christ, I know there will be trouble in this life. We are not Home! Yet, it can be really hard to remember where our calm comes from. Why we truly have peace, come what may.
Do you agree?
This is why I write, babble, pray-out-loud. To create safe and intentional community around wild spaces, the stories we live, and the One who has called us to stay the course. Because, really, we matter. And how we walk (or run) with our story and Jesus can save lives. Yours. Mine. Ours.
As we spend time together, I pray that you feel less alone in the midst of your wildness. And that perhaps here, you too can dig deeper into your tale… and point to goodness, gladness, joy, and a Sovereign God who provides, too.
Please know I am so, so thankful you are here. I can’t wait to get to know you better. And I am absolutely cheering you on.
